Eliot Spitzer was dropping $2,500 a night on prostitutes? I'm a bit naive on this subject -- what exactly does $2,500 get you that, say, $250 doesn't? Just how good can someone be? Does she come with a gram of coke? A vial of plutonium? A bottle of truffle oil? Does she stay up all night playing against you with a Wii?

It buys silence. I had a roommate once who used to bang the occasional member of Congress for money. She got $600 a throw, and used to say it was $100 to open her mouth for twenty minutes, and $500 to close it for twenty years. True story.
Wow. That was money well spent.
It was! It was the cops that knabbed him on a corruption trail that led somewhere unexpected. But the woman in question? Not a peep.
Also, yes, she probably does come with a gram of coke, but at that price, she will at least be assured to pretend to come with a gram of coke. badda-boom, thank you ladies and gentleman, we're here all week...
