Romney's lead with the GOP establishment is really impressive. He should have no problem winning with superdelegates if it is an otherwise even race. He also leads in campaign contributions, with only Perry and Paul coming anywhere close.
I agree with you Andrew. This nomination is Mitt Romney's to lose.
The establishment is strongly endorsing him because he's the most electable candidate against Pres. Obama. Romney was also active in getting a lot of Republicans elected in 2010. They'll pay him back in 2012.
Along with campaign contributions, I believe that corporations and Wall Street firms will overwhelmingly support Romney through Superpacs, thanks to the Citizen's United ruling. Wall Street donors who supported Obama in 2008 are already now flocking to Romney.
